This month marks 5 years since I first started offering my freelance services!
I’m not going to embark on a self-indulgent promenade down memory lane. Suffice it to say, that I’ve learned more in the last five years of having only myself to praise and blame than I ever expected. It’s been satisfying and frustrating, I’ve made lots of awesome mistakes, and each one got me a little closer to where I am now. Which is a fabulous place to be!
I do want to thank everyone who’s come along for the ride for their patience, encouragement, confidence, and loyalty!
The Big Announcement
So to celebrate the last 5 years I’ve decided it’s high time I start giving back to the design community, and what better way to do that than passing on the torch and mentoring the young, driven, and talented.
I’ve had the pleasure of working with some brilliant young minds over the last few years, many of whom had the same questions I had when I was just starting out. Boy, do I wish I had mentor to help me figure things out. What I had were blogs and books, and while there’s a wealth of valuable information available for all who seek it, nothing can replace the benefits of having a personal connection.
So, if you’re a young designer looking to learn about freelancing or tools of the trade – drop me a line with your:
- current experience and skill level
- a few samples of your work
- your area(s) of interest
- most importantly – what motivates and inspires you as a designer!
Just a note: this is not an internship (I won’t be giving you client work) or a paid position (I’m not hiring you to help out with my workload) – it is a learning opportunity.
I can’t wait to see what the future will bring! There are already a number of very interesting projects in the works that I will be sharing with you all as they come to fruition.
I hope you all will come along and follow my adventures!
